This is for a class modelling project. We're required to model a character using NURBS. If your character is simple and cartoony then you're required to model the whole body. If, in my case you want to model more realistically, then only the head is required.

CHEETARA struck me as a really awesome character because i have a special soft spot for wild cats and how gracefully they move.. and KILL

So after looking and collecting TONS of Cheetara fanart and scrnshots from Thundercats, i realised her design was a bit old and quite cartoony.. ie, things had been simplified for easy animation.

Therefore a redesign was in order.

I initially brainstormed some ideas and things i wanted to change and things i wasn't happy with the original design.

Firstly Cheetara is supposed to be FAST. Looking at the old designs she looks like she's stashing a small child in her butt and has the physique of a body builder. When i think fast and cheetah in the same wave i think LIGHT,SLEEK, KEEN and AERODYNAMIC. In order to show this grace i opted to follow elvish guidelines, this is fantastic because it also gave me a great skull shape.

Secondly, the original design had plenty catlike features, but they didn't look right, the eye for instance looks nothing like a cheetah's. So i changed that too and made sure that the bone beneath the eyeridge is thicker too, hopefully this'll work out when i start modelling.
